Located 322 kms. from Madrid, on Ebro River; Basilica de Nuestra Senora del Pilar; 14th century Gothic Cathedral .
Fiesta begins with proclamation of Queen and maids-of-honour; procession of floats, with music, and folkloric scenes from different regions. Great offering of flowers to Santisima Virgen del Pilar, on 12th, by thousands of people in typical costume. On 13th - "Rosario de Cristal" processiion: "jota" contest; colorful night procession to Plaza del Pilar; bullfights, sports contests, folkloric events, art exhibitions, fireworks.
