Located 42 kms. from Palma de Mallorca; nearby Caves of Campanet.
Typical "Canconers del Camp". singers with great local color; "glosadors" [like modern jongleurs]; processions with animals and masquerade - "Colla de Demo-nis". enlivening streets with singing and dancing; typically dressed dancers and singers performing Mallorcan songs and dances in streets.

Balearic Islands-Mallorca - March 31 - "Devallament".

Located 52 kms. from Palma; health resort; lovely beaches.
In Calvario on hill in northwest of town. veneratiori of precious images of Christ and Virgin Mary at foot of cross carved in stone. probably from 13th century;
tradition holds it was found by fishermen in San Vicente Bay. Image of Christ brought down from Calvario during night to Church of Nuestra Senora de los Angeles, in impressive, silent and torchlit procession.

24th - "Dia de San Juan" - most important day of fiesta, when "caragols" take place near town hall. These are in style of Medieval jousts.
