Some hotels in resort areas accept bookings only foi full board during
their peak season, but most offer a choice of full board, half board or bed and
breakfast.
Tourists paying in foreign currency are exempt from Value Added Tax and
other local taxes in the hotel in which they are residing.
Special rates for groups are quoted by hotels on request.
Children up to the age of 12 occupying a room with their parents are
entitled to a reduction in the published room rates, provided that a separate
room isn't required A 50% reduction will be allowed for children up to the age
of 6, and a 30% reduction for children up to age 12.
Youth hostels, located throughout the country, are generally of a fairly
high standard and provide basic facilities. Many of them have family
accommodation in addition to the usual dormitories.

The National Parks Authority has
reduced entrance rates for hostellers.

The Youth Travel Bureau is the travel agency of the Israel Youth Hostels
Association. They specialize in low budget tours for young people but also
study programmes, adventure tours, pilgrim tours and any other group travel
plans requested. They can organize any kind of progamme requested for a group
of no fewer than ten persons.

There are Christian hospices near most of the places in the Holy Land
revered by Christians the world over. Many of them have either facilities for
full board or only lodgings. Arrangements for staying in them should be made in
advance. Rates are usually very reasonable. (See "Accommodation" in
